TIGER TARA SHOW ROARS INTO MELBOURNE ON HUNTER CUP NIGHT    

Australasia’s best pacer Tiger Tara took no prisoners in the iconic AG Hunter Cup held at Melton this Saturday past. In the $500,000 feature the son of Bettor’s Delight broke his own track record for the 2760 metre trip. Tiger Tara posted a 1.53.2-mile rate and now has over $2,000,000 million in career earnings! His feature race wins this season also include the Victoria Cup and The Interdominion, he has dominated the Grand Circuit this season! Congratulations to all involved.

Bettor’s Delight sired doubles at Albion were Aqua Miss and Lilac Flash greeted the judge, at Addington, Doctor Tim and Copperfield got the chocolates and at Maryborough, Bettor Be Sorry was an impressive winner.

Plenty of winners for American Ideal, Ideal Bliss won at Hobart, Sweet As was an Albion Park winner, Mighty Flying Deal won at Pinjarra, Wandary Muscat at Canberra and J B Mauney scooted home in 27.3 to score at Addington.

Pegasus Spur was represented in the winner’s circle by Pegasus Elegance who scored at Menangle and Spur To Action was a winner at Wyndham.

HIGHVIEW TOMMY KICKS HIS FIRST GOAL

Woodlands Stud resident stallion, Highview Tommy registered his first win as a sire when his daughter Tombelina recorded victory at Banks Peninsula. In a text book drive from John Dunne, the filly powered along the sprint lane to record a classy victory. Bred by Highview Tommy’s part owner Hazel van Opeezland, the victory will certainly be the first of many for Highview Tommy as a sire. Congratulations to all involved with this memorable victory!

Bettor’s Delight’s progeny found the winners circle this week past. Among his siring credits were Jack’s Legend who won the Group 2, 4&5yo Futurity at Cambridge, he now has over $400,000 in earnings, Ashley Locaz and The Black Prince were impressive winners at Menangle and Manifestly Excesiv scored on debut as a 2yo at Pinjarra.

American Ideal’s son Isaac won the Devonport Cup over the staying trip of 3000 metres, on the same card Striet Kid was a winner, at Goulburn he sired a treble when Miss Halfpenny, The Ideal Dancer and Aztec Bromac all greeted the judge and top 3yo Franco Edward was a winner at Pinjarra.

BETTOR’S BIG BALLARAT CUP NIGHT

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delight continues to ply his trade like no other stallion in harness history. At Bray race way, on Ballarat Cup night he sired half the race card on this feature night. His New Zealand Cup winning son, The Fixer, came out of the trail late to win the Group 1 Ballarat Cup. With earnings now of over $600,000 the Hunter Cup is now in The Fixer’s sights.

Three heats of the Downbytheseaside Victorian Derby were held and Bettor’s Delight’s son’s Hurricane Harley, I’m Another Masterpiece and Max’s Delight were all victors on the way to the $200,000 final at Melton this week. Class act Spankem, rounded out proceedings with an effortless victory on a big night for Bettor’s Delight.

American Ideal continues to be a great foil for his mate Bettor’s Delight, he sired a treble at Albion Park this Saturday past with Cold Ideal, Shard’s Halo and Lisa Lincoln all greeting the judge, at Newcastle The Ideal Dancer was an effortless winner and Pay Me Overs greeted the judge at Penrith.

Sweet Lou progeny are starting to show up at the trials on both sides of the ditch, with a number of recent impressive trial winners!

CLASSY KIWI TOO GOOD IN SHEPPARTON CUP

Top flight kiwi 4yo Pat’s Delight proved to classy for his rivals in the Group 2, $75,000 Shepparton Pacing Cup this Saturday past. The son of Bettors Delight, trained by Cran Dalgety and driven a perfect race by Gavin Lang recorded career win number twelve and now has over $286,000 in stake earnings.

On the same card Max’s Delight warmed up for the ’Downbytheseaside’, Victorian Derby heats with an easy victory. Elsewhere, Bettor’s Delight sired a treble at Gloucester Park, among the winner’s  where Bettor Vision and Dracharys, Tiger Tara was a Menangle winner and at Nelson, Tuapeka Trick and Dadndave greeted the judge.

American Ideal’s 2yo’s are off and running in Australia, with Intheskyrocket and impressive debut winner at Pinjarra in 1.56.7, at Hamilton on Cup day, he sired a double when Vic Derby bound Nostra Ideal and Idealsomemagic, where impressive winners. American Zest, has a picket fence beside his name following another victory at Maryborough and Double Rocket was a Cambridge winner.

BETTORS DELIGHT 3YO’S SEE OUT 2018 IN STYLE

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delight enjoyed a big day out on Auckland Cup Day, when his 3yo progeny dominated key features for both sexes. Classy filly Belle Of Montana captured the New Zealand 3yo Sires Stakes final for fillies with a barnstorming finish. Scorching home in 27.3, she led in a Bettor’s Delight trifecta on the feature. Ultimate Sniper proved unstoppable in his age group when he won the $200,000 PGG Wrightson Classic. Cruising home in 54.5, the star 3yo now has close to $250,000 in the locker, he is easily the best 3yo ‘Down Under’! On the same card top flight race mare Elle Mac, added the New Zealand record for 1700 metres to her CV, when she recorded a 1.51.6-mile rate for the journey. A winner of over $500,000, the daughter of Bettor’s Delight has plied her trade with class since her juvenile days!

American Ideal finished 2018, with a flurry of winners. American Empress, dealt to her rivals on Auckland Cup Day, winning by over four lengths in 1.55.4, at Gore he sired a double when Balcatherine and Ivana Legacy greeted the judge, Alpha Charlie, continued on his winning ways with victory at Melton, Double Rocket won at Cambridge and The Ideal Dancer scored at Goulburn.

TIGER TARA BURNS BRIGHT IN 2018 INTER DOMINION FINAL

Star pacer Tiger Tara added to his great record when he was an all the way winner in the 2018 Inter Dominion final at Melton. Taking no prisoners from the start, he pounced on the lead and then controlled the race, to smash the track record once held by many top-flight pacers nemesis Lazarus. Tiger Tara paced the 2670 metre journey in a mile rate of 1.53.9! The son of Bettors Delight scooted away to win by 14 metres. With the lions share of the $500,000 feature stake monies, Tiger Tara is now closing in on $2,000,000 in career earnings. Congratulations to all those associated with this great horse!

Out west, the $200,000 Group 1 Gold Nugget was taken out by Bettor’s Delight’s son Ana Malik. The 4yo classic held at Gloucester Park, saw Ana Malik record career win number seven from only nine career starts, he now has career earnings of over $237,000. The Woodlands stallions quinelled the race with American Ideal’s son Mighty Conqueror a massive run after sitting in the chair.

At Auckland, ‘down under’s’ best mare Dream About Me was an impressive winner of the Group 1 ‘Queen Of Hearts’. The daughter of Bettor’s Delight now has career earnings of $1.2 million.

WOODLANDS STALLIONS CAST BIG SHADOW OVER INTER DOMINION FINALS

Bettors Delight and Pegasus Spur’s progeny have certainly stamped themselves during the Inter Dominion being held in Victoria. With the final on the horizon at Melton, both sires will be represented by a number of starters in both finals for pacers and the trotters. Champion sire Bettor’s Delight is represented by six of his sons, who won a total of six of the nine heats contested. Spankem was a dual heat winner along with Pat’s Delight, Galactic Star, Tiger Tara and Wrappers Delight, the other starter in the final is the Woodlands bred and raised Can’t Refuse.

Pegasus Spur has three of his progenies in the final for trotters. Top flight trotter Speeding Spur, a multiple heat winner leads the charge with tough stayer Monty Python joining him, along with $300,000 earner Wilma’s Mate. Good luck to all in these showcase events.

American Ideal was a rich source of winners this past week in Australia. Out west, he continues to shine, with Saying Grace and Runrunjimmydunn both winning at Gloucester Park, at Bunbury he sired a treble when Muffins, Sammy’s Ideal and Prada’s Ideal Dharling got the chocolates and top-flight juveniles Franco Edward and Bletchley Park returned as three-year old’s with victory.

WOODLANDS SIRES TRIFECTA KEY WA 4YO FEATURE

The $125,000 Group One 4yo Classic at Gloucester Park saw Bettor’s Delights son Ana Malik lead from start to finish to defeat his rivals. Pacing 1.55.5 for the 2130 metre journey, he saw off the fast finishing Ideal Liner a son of American Ideal and Mighty Conqueror ran a mighty race into third he is also a son of American Ideal. The Western Australian 4yo crop this season runs very deep and the Woodlands sires feature heavily.

The time honoured Inter Dominion returned to Victoria and in the opening round heats our stallions where seen to advantage. Pegasus Spur’s son Speeding Spur has earnings of over $980,000 following his victory in his trotter’s heat at Melton. Never extended he ran home in 56 and change to secure maximum points.

Bettor’s Delight sired two of the opening round heats winners for the pacers. Gun New Zealand bred 4yo Spankem was too classy and Western Australia visitor Galactic Star led all the way to secure his heat victory.

No shortage of winners for American Ideal this week past, he sired a double at Auckland when Parker and Triple Eight greeted the judge, Muffins was a Narrogin winner, Twilight Saga scored at Oamaru and Veloce Bella was an Albion Park winner.
