WS NEWS | 150 Winners in Two Weeks!

Momentum keeps building!

There were 75 winners across the board for Woodlands stallions last week, bringing the total to an incredible 150 winners in just the past two weeks.

Among last weeks winners were, 12 two-year-old winners, multiple feature race victories, and countless impressive performances from our roster of World Class sires, see the highlights below.

With outstanding stallion options, growing breeding incentives, and record sale prices, the demand for quality stock has never been stronger. As the overall horse supply tightens, every breeder is helping to fill a growing shortfall, and the opportunity has never been greater than when you breed your mare this season.

MORE FEATURES FOR BETTOR'S

Proven brilliance once again from the King of sires, BETTOR'S DELIGHT. 18 winners across the board and a continuation of dominance on the sires leaderboards.

Long-time supporters Paul and Pauline Renwick celebrated more feature success as breeders when 3YO  BETTOR FORTUNE (Artsplace dam) stormed to victory in the Group 3 Western Gateway at Gloucester Park. It was his seventh straight win from just eight starts, taking his stakes past $81,000.

Earlier in the night, across the Tasman, REPUBLICAN PARTY (American Ideal dam) cleared out by three lengths to win the Group 2 Canterbury Classic at Addington, a key New Zealand Cup lead-up. The Price Bloodstock–bred 6YO has now earned $923,000 with 23 career wins and looks to be one of the key New Zealand chances heading into the big dance next month.

Bettor’s Delight’s fertility has been excellent this season, and he’s already producing strong early results on both sides of the Tasman.

There’s no slowing Downbytheseaside.

Boasting a remarkable 60% starters-to-winners ratio for his two-year-olds in Australia (and 64% across all ages), he continues to take the harness racing world by storm. He’s currently the leading sire of 2YOs in North America and sits second only to Bettor’s Delight in New Zealand, even matching him for total wins this season.

In New Zealand, his talented daughter TYTATE (Mach Three dam) outgunned the boys in a heat of the Northern Metro Series at Alexandra Park, claiming her fifth win and pushing her earnings past $65,000. The Woodlands Stud–bred mare has finished in the top three in 10 of her 12 starts and looks an exciting prospect for connections, including Woodlands Stud’s own Steve Cornwall.
