BETTORS DELIGHT ONCE AGAIN DELIVERS ON THE BIGGEST STAGE

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delight dominated New Zealand Cup day with no fewer than five race winners! His son One Change was a winner of the Group 1 Sires Stakes final for 3yo colts and geldings. Enjoying a pocket sitting trip he prevailed in a tight finish. One Change paced home in 55.7 to hold off a barnstorming Copy That, a son of American Ideal!

Ultimate Sniper was stunning in winning the Junior Free For All. Bettor’s Delight’s son paced 1.55.3 for the 2600 metres journey which was a race record. Other cup day winners included debut winner Sugar Loaf, Amazing Dream whose win after being forced wide was sensational and Ascalabus rounded out a big Cup day with his vctory.

In the USA, American Ideal’s son Endeavour pushed his career earnings close to USD $650,000 with victory in the Potomac Pace Invitational at Rosecroft Raceway where he posted a 1.49.4-mile rate.

Closer to home he sired good winners in Ideal Star at Menangle in 1.52.7, Flash Party was a winner at Invercargill, out west Show Your Stars and Infatuation got the chocolates and at Wagga Wagga, Arden Up greeted the judge.

CLASSIE BRIGADE TAKES THE KAIKOURA CUP IN STYLE

Bettor’s Delights son Classie Brigade was rewarded for his standing start manners with victory in the 2019 Kaikoura Cup. With a fast beginning from the tapes, he was able to dictate to his rivals in a great front running display from driver John Dunn. With the New Zealand Cup in his sights, Classie Brigade remains a key player.

No shortage of winners for Bettor’s Delight with a double at Auckland, where Nun Bettor and Sole Ambition greeted the judge, at Geelong, Soho Notorious and Ruby Delight got the cash and Ale Ale Kai was an Albion Park winner.  

American Ideal had good winners the length and breadth of Australia. Foo Fighter paced 1.50.6 to win at Menangle, the Woodlands bred and raised Classie American was an Albion Park winner, Sammy’s Ideal scored at Bunbury and Prada’s Little Dhaling was a Gloucester Park winner and at Penrith he sired a double when Madre Supremo and Benevolence got the chocolates.

Sweet Lou’s 3yo crop continued on their winning way with Virgil winning at Kaikoura and his ace daughter My Sweet Deal recorded career win number four, with a sixteen metre victory at Pinjarra!

Resident trotting stallion, Pegasus Spur was seen to advantage with winners in Tiger For Life at Melton and Lukyanova won at Cambridge.

BREEDERS CROWN JOY FOR WOODLANDS STUD STALLIONS

The Breeders Crown finals were held in Canada this weekend past and the Woodlands Stud stallions cast a big shadow over the pacing finals, which were held at Woodbine racetrack. With a total of six pacing divisions held, our stallion roster, walked away with five Breeders Crown final winners.

At 21 years old, Bettor’s Delight sired the 2yo colts and gelding’s winner in Tall Dark Stranger, this was juvenile win number eight for this stylish pacer. Bettor’s Delight’s top flight daughter Caviart Ally paced 1.49.3 to win the Breeders Crown mares pace. This was her twenty fourth career win and she has banked over $1.6 million in earnings.

Sweet Lou had a day to remember when he sired both 3yo Breeders Crown winners. His champion daughter Warrawee Ubeaut, clinically despatched her rivals in the filly’s division, pacing a 1.50.2 mile, she now is the owner of back to back Breeders Crown titles! Late season bloomer Dancing Lou, sprouted wings to win the 3yo final for colts and geldings. Pacing the mile in 1.50.2, he arrived just in time to secure victory. The win of Dancing Lou gave ex pat Australian trainer Tahn Camilleri, a night she will never forget!

American Ideals’ son American History, took the short way home to win the Open Breeders Crown Pace final in 1.48.3. The 4yo won the $655,000 final, brushing home in 27 seconds.

SWEET LOUS KIDS DAZZLE IN BREEDERS CROWN ELIMINATIONS AT WOODBINE

Sweet Lou’s 3yo progeny in North America have roared on ahead of the Breeder Crown finals to be held at Woodbine this coming weekend. His champion daughter Warrawee Ubeaut, won her elimination for the 3yo fillies, pacing a mile in 1.50.2. Her career record now extends to 18 career wins and a bank roll of over $1.3 million! In the 3yo boys divisions, late season bloomer Dancin Lou, took the quickest way home when he scooted along the pylons to win in 1.50.1, he now has close to $300,000 in earnings.

Closer to home, Sweet Lou sired a treble in New Zealand, when Spirit Of St Louis scored at Forbury Park and at Cambridge he sired a double when Double Or Nothing won and Larry Lincoln won on debut! In Australia, Sweet Lou’s classy daughter My Sweet Deal was a twenty five metre winner at Bunbury.

American Ideal had good winners on both sides of the ditch, including Captain Max at Cambridge, Ideal Glacier at Riverton, out west he sired a double when Mighty Conqueror and Overboard Again greeted the judge and Emerging Talent was an impressive winner at Melton.

Bettor’s Delight son Bettor’s Wish continued his stellar North American season with victory in his 3yo Breeders Crown elimination at Woodbine. Coming off cover, he powered to victory in 1.51 flat. At Addington, he sired five winners, amongst the brace were Sires Stake winner One Change, Ultimate Sniper and Let’s Delight. Code Black was rewarded with his consistency when he won the Maryborough Cup and Raptors Flight was a Melton winner.

AMERICAN IDEAL’S BIG BOYS SMASH RECORDS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TASMAN

American Ideal’s reputation as a sire continues unabashed, ‘down under’. At Melton on Saturday night his champion son Bling It On fabled return as a nine-year-old, added another chapter when he won the Group 1 Victoria Cup in World Record time. Blazing 1.51.5 for the 2240 metre journey, Bling It On recorded his sixth career Group 1. Congratulations to all involved in the stallion’s race track return.

At Auckland, Triple Eight is a pacer ‘on the rise’ following his New Zealand national record victory at in Holmes DG. Overcoming his 30-metre handicap, the son of American Ideal paced the 2700 metre journey in 3.17.2. In doing so he shaved a crazy 2.4 seconds off the previous record, the Interdominion is now on his radar.

Other good winners for American Ideal included Takara Truffle at Menangle, Mighty Flying Deal at Gloucester Park and Cruz was a Melton winner.

Bettor’s Delight’s star daughter Alicorn, continued her dominant season as Canada’s best 2yo filly with victory in the CA $225,000 Ontario Sires Stakes at Woodbine. Pacing a 1.52 and change mile, the classy filly recorded career win number seven as a juvenile.

Closer to home, Bettor’s Delight sired a quartet of winners at Addington, amongst those greeting the judge were Roll The Dice and Dr Susan, at Melton, Hurricane Harley was back in the winner’s circle and at Mildura, Smynanna Mickey continued on her winning way.

Pegasus Spur had good winners in Medusa at Addington, Helluva Way was a Gore winner and Miss Blissful was an impressive winner at Melton.

WOODLANDS STALLIONS PACKING PUNCH AT THE RED MILE

In the United States, the famed Red Mile in Kentucky has been the scene of feature racing this week past and Bettor’s Delight’s and Sweet Lou’s progeny have been mixing with the best!

Bettor’s Delight son Bettor’s Wish stellar season continued when he won a $270,000 division of the Tattersalls pace defeating a pocket sitting Captain Crunch, he now has over $1.5 million on his card.

Classy mare Caviart Ally recorded career win number 23 when she won the Allerage mares pace in 1.48.3, the daughter of Bettor’s Delight defeated Shartin!

Tall Dark Stranger remains undefeated as a 2yo following his International Stallion Stakes division victory, he turned in a 1.50 flat victory.

Sweet Lou’s 3yo’s have rocked on this season. His champion daughter Warrawee Ubeaut confirmed her status as head of the 3yo fillies’ class when she won the Tattersalls fillies division in 1.48.3, she roared home in 26.3!

Dancing Lou won his $270,000 division of the Tattersalls in 1.49.4, it was his 10th career win and gave ex pat Australian, Tahnee Camilleri her biggest career win in the USA!

Closer to home, American Ideal’s son Copy That was an impressive 3yo sires stakes heat winner at Cambridge, he rushed home in 27.6, with plenty in the tank, at Penrith, Sky Diamond got the cash, Patronus Star was an impressive Timaru winner and Takara Truffle won at Tamworth, completing another great week for the Woodlands Stud Stallions!

BLING IT ON STUNS IN RACING RETURN

American Ideal’s champion son Bling It On, turned back the clock when he resumed in stunning fashion at Menangle. The ever green nine-year-old put his open class rivals on notice when he paced 1.50.2 in his return to win easily. The millionaire pacer recorded career win number 46 and with the open class pacing ranks very thin, Bling It On now targets the Grand Circuit.

American Ideal’s classy New Zealand son Triple Eight was an impressive winner of the Spring Cup at Auckland, out west he sired a double at Gloucester Park when Mighty Flying Deal and Bletchley Park greeted the judge and Emerging Talent was a Kilmore winner.

Plenty of winners for champion sire Bettor’s Delight, amongst them were Northview Hustler and Tennyson Bromac at Albion Park, Carlos Bromac was a Winton winner and at Launceston he sired a double when Sheza Bettormak and Bettor Than That got the cash.

Sweet Lou was seen to advantage in the ‘Shaky Isles’ with Double Or Nothing winning at Auckland and I’m A Gigolo remaining undefeated following a stylish Addington victory, both horses now head towards the 3yo Sires Stakes heats.

Great to see Pegasus Spur’s daughter Pegasus Elegance take a winning mile rate of 1.54.6 at Menangle!

TALL DARK STRANGER TAKES $750,000 METRO PACE

The Bettor’s Delight siring juggernaut continues relentlessly as each season comes and goes and his greatness was on display at Woodbine in Ontario, Canada, when his undefeated son Tall Dark Stranger won the time-honoured Metro Pace for juveniles.

In the CA $750,000 classic, he paced a  1.49.1 stakes record with his victory. The son of Bettor’s Delight is now unbeaten in six career starts and has banked close to $500,000 in earnings. On the same card, top flight mare Caviart Ally won the CA $250,000 Milton Stakes for the mares in 1.48.3. The daughter of Bettor’s Delight paced home in 53.3 and this was career win number 22, she now has career earnings of over $1.5 million.

Closer to home Bettor’s Delight’s son Spankem was the winner of the Hannon Memorial at Oamaru, he rushed home in 53 and change and is the nominal favourite for the New Zealand Cup.

American Ideal has a serious 3yo son in Copy That, he was a sensational winner at Auckland, coming from the rear in 55.4 and on the same card Ivana Flybye was a crushing five length winner. At Gloucester Park, American Ideal sired a double when Bletchley Park and Ideal One greeted the judge, at Penrith, Speedy Dominic and Madre Supremo got the chocolates and at Albion Park, Classie American was a 1.53.8 victor.
