IDEAL ALICE IS IN WONDERLAND

Classy West Australian mare Ideal Alice has pushed past $250,000 in stakes with her victory in the Group 3 Parliamentarians at Gloucester Park this week past. A daughter of American Ideal, she now has seventeen career wins and adds to her sires reputation as a great sire of fillies and mares. Other winners of the fairer sex by American Ideal included American Tart at Addington and American Empress at Auckland.  Best of luck to his millionaire son Bling It On in the $1.1 million Interdominion final, he was a heat winner at Bunbury and has come up with the barrier one in the final. American Ideal finished a big week with his son Ideal Success taking out the $30,000 Stawell Cup for Kerryn Manning in track record time.

For Bettor’s Delight, we wish his son Bettor’s Fire all the best in the 2016 Interdominion final also. No shortage of winners for the champion stallion, among them a treble at Auckland led by Strike The Gold, Bettor Back Betty was a Bendigo winner, Look and Listen paced 1.53.3 to win at Menangle and Riccardo made it back to back wins at Addington.

Pegasus Spur had a big week on the track with winners on both sides of the ditch including Sexy Rexy at Cambridge, Marvellous Max at Cranbourne and Blood and Whisky led in a Pegasus Spur trifecta at Auckland.

CHICAGO BULL IMPRESSES IN GROUP ONE VICTORY

Top flight 4yo Chicago Bull added to his burgeoning reputation by winning the McInerney Ford Classic at Gloucester Park on the opening night of the 2016 Interdominion.

The Group One feature bought together Western Australia’s best 4yo’s and the son of Bettor’s Delight outstayed his rivals in the $125,000 feature. Returning a 1.54.9 mile rate for the 2536 metre trip, Chicago Bull has now bankrolled over $365,000 in stakes.

Bettor’s Fire opened his Interdominion campaign with an all the way victory in his heat. This was his 31st career win and he now has over $570,000 in the locker. Bettor’s Delight top flight daughter Spanish Armada returned to racing with victory in her NZ sire’s stakes heat at Addington and on the same card Bettor’s Delights son Riccardo was a 15-length winner. American Ideal was a force in New Zealand with winners including a double at Geraldine with

Quite Ideal and Myidealson, Ideal Roman scooted home in 56.3 to win at Auckland and The Big Boss was an Invercargill winner.

Resident trotting stallion Pegasus Spur’s daughter was a Menangle Park winner.

SUNSHINE GIRLS KEEP DELIVERING IN QUEENSLAND

Top quality 4yo pacing mares Bettorthanspecial and Bettor Promise have both left no stone unturned since they commenced their racing careers as 2yo’s. Both mares bred by the late Tony Price were Albion Park winners on Saturday night. For Bettor Promise it was career win number nineteen and she now has stakes earnings of over $225,000. Bettorthanspecial is nearing $250,000 in stakes and her recent win was career win number twenty-one. Both are daughters of champion stallion Bettor’s Delight.

Other winners to greet the judge by Bettor’s Delight this week past included Selling the Dream at Cranbourne, Inflight won on debut at Cambridge, Harry Hoo and Bettor Be Supreme both won at Gloucester Park and Plain Baby was a Gunbower winner.

American Ideal’s progeny just keep winning in Western Australia. Classy mare Ideal Alice was 1.56.1 winner at Gloucester Park, Soho Tribeca won on the same card pacing 1.55.5, The Trilogy scored at Northam, Mister Daytona just keeps winning, he was a Pinjarra victor and Estocada shared the spoils at Bunbury. In the shaky isles, he had good winners in Kaitlyn at Auckland and Mighty Flying Deal at Invercargill.

For Pegasus Spur his daughter It’s Not Dark Yet recorded career win number twelve with victory at Shepparton for trainer Brian Kiesey. 

PYRO BLAZING INTO THE FUTURE

Pyro - the first Sweet Lou to be offered at public auction

The first progeny of champion racehorse Sweet Lou have been to the marketplace in North America and the response was staggering. At the Harrisburg sales, a weanling colt by Sweet Lou named Pyro fetched USD$80,000! Pyro a very athletic type was form the Somebeachsomewhere mare Whetstone Hanover.

The future is for ‘down under’ breeders, don’t hesitate to book to Sweet Lou whose progeny are strong, athletic and are very intelligent.

Bettor’s Delight’s newly crowned champion son Lazarus finished New Zealand Cup week in style with victory in the Woodlands Stud free for all at Addington. Forced to sit parked, he was too tough for his rivals in the Group One feature, he returned a New Zealand record for the 1950 metre trip, pacing a 1.52.4-mile rate and pacing a closing ½ in 55.7.

Pegasus Spur’s daughter Maori Time continued to dominant the Australian open trotting ranks with victory in the Group One Bill Collins mile at Melton. Leading all the way in the $50,000 feature, Maori Time now has $313,000 in the locker and she returned a 1.55.4-mile rate.

At the same race meeting, American Ideal’s millionaire son Bling It On was a winner of the Group 2 Smoken Up. With over $1.1 million on his card Bling It On paced 1.51.4 and now heads to the Interdominion in Perth. What a great week for the Woodlands Stallions!

MAORI TIME’S RACE CAREER CONTINUES TO BLOSSOM

Australia’s top trotting mare Maori Time was at her best at Melton on Saturday when she was an all the way winner in the Group 3 Derby Royale Free For All. Trotting home in 55.6, she despatched some classy squaregaiters including millionaire Keystone Del. The daughter of Pegasus Spur has now banked over $285,000 in stakes and this was career win number 18. Congratulations to her owner and breeder Fred Crews.

On the same card Desert Spur was rewarded for consistency with a win and at Auckland Arethusa Spur was a debut winner for John and Josh Dickie, giving the fairer sex of sire Pegasus Spur a great week.

Bettor’s Delight left no fewer than 30 winners on both sides of the ditch this week. Among those greeting the judge where Utmost Delight in the 3yo fillies’ sires stakes heat at Auckland, top flight mare Dodolicious resumed at Gloucester Park to win, The Bettormack won at Launceston and Murano and Rave Moonraker led in a Bettor’s Delight double at Menangle. American Ideal had good quality winners in Our Pepperjack at Menangle, Takara Truffle remains undefeated in Australia after victory at Tamworth, Ideal Rule won at Invercargill and Palmisano was a Launceston winner. 

OHOKA PUNTER DELIVERS IN THE MARYBOROUGH CUP

Top flight pacer Ohoka Punter added to his burgeoning career with victory in the Group 3 Maryborough Gold Cup. The grand circuit player was to classy for his rivals in the key Victorian feature. The win was number 24 in his career that is littered with big race victories. With over $960,000 in the bank, the son of Bettor’s Delight will now head to Perth to join leading conditioner Gary Hall to prepare for the 2016 Interdominion.

Plenty of quality winners for Bettor’s Delight, this week past including Delightful Memphis in the 3yo sires stakes heat for fillies at Addington, Bettabe Perfect was an Albion Park winner, Tua’s Delight saluted at Penrith and Laredo Torpedo was a Cambridge winner.

American Ideal continues to deliver plenty of winners with quality and depth. At Gloucester Park, Over Board Again and Our Regal Ideal both posted great wins, his son Ideal Tyson was a 1.56 winner at Pinjarra, he now has over a $100,000 in the locker. He has unearthed another top filly in Pembrook Ideal, she was a debut winner at Forbury Park and three days later returned to the same track to win stylishly. Both times she showed high speed to run her rivals off their feet. The Big Boss was a winner at Forbury also, he led a trifecta for American Ideal and Aztec Bromac was  a 1.55.9 winner at Menangle for Kerry Anne Turner and Robbie Morris. 

BETTOR’S SOPHOMORES DOMINATE ONTARIO SIRES STAKES

World champion sire Bettor’s Delight’s progeny were the star attractions on Ontario Sires Stakes night at Woodbine in Canada. Ace 3yo filly LA Delight was a winner of the 3yo fillies’ sires final in 1.50.3. Continuing on from her Juggette success, she now has over $1.35 million on her card and has twenty career victories.

North America’s best 3yo Betting Line made it fourteen consecutive wins with a 1.49.3 victory in the 3yo colts & geldings division. The champion 3yo has now made more than $2.2 million in career earnings of which $1.7 million has been made this 3yo season.

Closer to home plenty of winners for the leviathan stallion including Tennyson Inlet at Manawatu, Aliante took out the Holmes DG at Auckland, The Fixer won on debut at Addington and Gina Grace scorched around Menangle in 1.51.8.

American Ideal’s progeny continued on their winning way in Australia with Takara Truffle a very impressive debut winner at Bankstown, Ideal Tyson was a winner at Pinjarra, Young American lead all the way at Albion Park, Ideal Romance was another Queensland winner at Redcliffe and Our Pepperjack was a winner in the Riverina at Wagga Wagga.

LAZARUS ON TARGET FOR NEW ZEALAND CUP

Bettor’s Delights top flight son Lazarus has transition from star 3yo to open class pacer with aplomb. With the New Zealand Cup in his sights, Lazarus showed all his star qualities to win the Christian Cullen Classic at Addington against his more seasoned and older rivals. Taking over midrace he paced a New Zealand record for the 2600 metre standing start feature, his time was 3.11.4. Lazarus has now banked $925,000 in career earnings from only nineteen lifetime starts.

Plenty of winners for Bettor’s Delight, at Gloucester Park he sired a quartet of winners that included Commander Chapel and Delightful Offer, On The Rantan was an easy Addington winner and Gina Grace was a 1.54.5 Menangle winner.

American Ideal remains a rich source of winners in Australia with Hey Porsha winning at Bathurst, she now has career earnings close to $70,000, Overboard Again was a Pinjarra winner and Yankee Strutter was a winner in the Sunshine state. Top trotting stallion Pegasus Spur had very good New Zealand winners in Blood And Whisky at Auckland and Another Chapter cleared maiden ranks with victory at Timaru.
