Enjoy the sweet taste of success with SWEET LOU

There is no bitter taste in our mouths after the success of the SWEET LOU progeny at the recent Mixed Age Sale.

We're thrilled with the reception of the Sweet Lou progeny. The quality of the stock he is leaving was reflected in the prices. We can't re-call the last time a first year sire consistently fetched over $10,000 for weanlings here in NZ.

It is great to see that some of New Zealand's top trainers have purchased the Sweet Lou's. The likes of Tony Herlihy, Brent Mangos, Cran Dalgety, Ray Green have snapped them up, this is a great recommendation for Sweet Lou. The reception his progeny received should give breeders great confidence in breeding to him this year.

We're so confident you'll get the results with Sweet Lou that we want to give everyone the opportunity to breed their own #BabyBlaze....

Book and return a signed contract before 31st October 2017 and we'll give you an early bird discount, reducing his service fee to $4,000 + GST - $4400 incl GST

Sweet Lou presents commercial Australasian Breeders with quality bloodlines not currently available. He is a complete out-cross being the son of Yankee Cruiser (Artiscape ) out of Sweet Future (Falcon's Future). His maternal line is one of USA's strongest with with his half brother being $2.7 million winner and World Champion Bettor Sweet (Bettor's Delight) and half sister 1.51.1 mare Sweet Paprika (Artiscape)

His list of race track accomplishments is staggering;

  • He earned USD$3,478,894 in purses and took a lifetime mark of 1.47.0.
  • Sweet Lou was Dan Patch 2 year old Pacing Colt of the year in 2011,  Dan Patch Older Pacer of the Year 2014 and US Pacer of the Year in 2014
  • He was a winner of the elimination and final of the Breeders Crown at Woodbine, he won three legs of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes and was a winner of 10 of his 12 freshman year starts.
  • Sweet Lou still holds the World Record for a 2yo set on the night he won the Breeders Crown at Woodbine.
  • At 3, he bankrolled, over a million in purses, with sire’s stakes victories and a Little Brown Jug elimination amongst his wins.
  • As an aged pacer his career was highlighted by his incredible ten race win streak in the North American Free For All ranks.
  • Amongst that win streak was six victories recorded in sub 1.48 mile rates. Sweet Lou defeated some of North America best pacers during this time including Captain Treacherous, A Rocknroll Dance, Sunshine Beach and Foiled Again.

His first foals are on the ground in the USA and have been stamped with their fathers athleticism, size and good looks. One of the many standouts of his first crop is the filly (pictured below) out of a full sister to Captaintreacherous, called She's Some Treasure
